My name is Gail Mattson. This is my 26th year of teaching and my 10th year at AVCS. Time flies when you are having fun! And I am having fun. The Lord has blessed me with a joyful and meaningful career. I have taught in the Orange Unified School District and local Christian schools.

I am happy to say my family lives close by me in southern California. I have a daughter, Tracy, living in Redondo Beach and a son, Michael, living in Mission Viejo. Michael has a wife, Christine and two boys, Caleb, 5, and Adam, 3. This makes it very easy to spend time with all of them and I do so as often as possible.

This summer was a busy one with a lot of friends coming to visit. This was my summer to stay home and be the hostess and not travel. I am planning a year of just enjoying my home and no major remodeling going on. Yeah!

I am excited to be starting this ten year at AVCS! I see how much we have grown and challenged our children to be the best they can.

I feel Kindergarten is the time to set a positive and strong foundation for a child’s attitude about learning. I am looking forward to this new year at AVCS.
