Getting to know Mrs. Gordon

Blessings to you in Christ, and welcome to Mrs. Gordon’s web page! This is my fourth year teaching middle school mathematics at AVCS, and I have found it to be a warm and inviting place where I have been welcomed as a member of the family in the name of Christ. This year I am teaching 6th and 7th grade Math 87, 7th and 8th grade Algebra 1, and 8th grade Pre-Algebra.

I hold a BA in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. I have worked in accounting, finance, mortgage banking, and children’s ministry over the years. I received my California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSUF in 2005, and I received my California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Foundational-Level Mathematics in 2006.

I have been married for 20 years and have three sons, three cats, and a parakeet. This year my oldest son goes off to college at UCLA (go Bruins), my middle son is in 10th grade, and my youngest son is in 7th grade. I enjoy reading, Bible study, children’s ministry activities at my church, and spending time with my family at the beach or camping. My favorite Bible verse is: Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

God has truly guided me in His will as I delight myself in Him, and has given me the desire of my heart to teach at AVCS! I look forward to another year of growing in grace, truth, and knowledge together with each of my students.
