Getting to know Pastor Leland

Leland Lantz has been with Lutheran Church of the Cross since June of 1997 when he was called to be pastor of evangelism and to help start a satellite campus somewhere in Aliso Viejo. He was instrumental in finding the property and helping to start Aliso Viejo Church of the Cross and Christian School. Leland has just been called to be the senior pastor of Lutheran Church of the Cross.

Leland and his wife Marcia are graduates of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Leland and Marcia both earned their masters degrees from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Leland in music and Marcia in elementary education. They both taught in Southwest Iowa for 5 years and Leland continued to teach for another 3 years in Springfield, Missouri prior to attending Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Marcia teaches at Stoneybrooke Christian School in Mission Viejo. Leland and Marcia have two teenage children, Emilie 17, is a senior at Laguna Hills High School and Jonathan 15, is a freshman at Lutheran High School in Orange. Their family has enjoyed two short term mission trips, one to the Czech Republic in 2003 and this past summer to Bolivia.
